At Fisherrow Centre, Musselburgh, the Special Needs Resource Base is supported by East Lothian Council Childcare Partnership and operated by Borders Scrap Store

Toys

What it provides

The library aims to provide a range of toys, equipment and books for children who have special needs.

Often organisations do not have the money to buy a full range of equipment, nor do they have the facilities for storage.

The library allows members to borrow and try out some of the resources available.

Groups and individuals are able to borrow materials for up to one term.

Who can use the toy library

Groups and individuals who provide childcare and education for children with special needs can borrow equipment on payment of a small annual membership fee.

The range of resources is intended to encourage learning. The equipment will also support all areas of a child's development:

Location

The Toy Library is at our Selkirk Scrap Store on South Riverside Industrial Area, near the swimming pool and Station Road Post Office. Access is flat and level with plenty of free parking.

At Fisherrow Centre, Musselburgh, the Special Needs Resource Base is housed in the next room along from the Scrap Store.

There is a free delivery service.

Opening times

Selkirk

Tuesday 10.00 am - 1.00 pm
Thursday 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm

We welcome visitors. There will often be someone around at other times, just call in advance to make sure.

Musselburgh

Wednesday 9.30 am - 1.30 pm

Membership fees

There are two categories of membership:

Individual £5.00 per year
Group £10.00 per year
